Having come back from a set down to win her first two rounds, Coco Gauff battled through another three-setter in Miami on Monday, beating Sorana Cirstea, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, to reach the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 event.

And with that win, she pulled off two personal milestones.

First of all, she’s now through to the quarterfinals in Miami for the first time in her career. She had reached the fourth round at her home tournament three times before but was stopped every time, in 2022 (by Iga Swiatek), 2024 (by Caroline Garcia) and 2025 (by Magda Linette).

Second of all, and even more impressively, she’s now reached the quarterfinals or better at all 10 WTA 1000 events currently on the calendar. Miami had been the only one missing in her collection.

Reaching the quarterfinals or better at every WTA 1000 event in one's career is already a rare achievement, but doing it at 22 years old—which Gauff just turned just 10 days ago—makes it all the more incredible.

COCO GAUFF'S BEST RESULTS BY CURRENT WTA 1000 EVENT:

  • QFs of Doha (2022)
  • SFs of Dubai (2023, 2026)
  • SFs of Indian Wells (2024)
  • QFs of Miami (2026)
  • F of Madrid (2025)
  • F of Rome (2025)
  • QFs of Canada (2021, 2022, 2023)
  • Won Cincinnati (2023)
  • Won Beijing (2024)
  • Won Wuhan (2025)

Gauff is just a few wins away from upgrading her WTA 1000 quarterfinal collection to a WTA 1000 semifinal collection, as she’s only missing three semifinals—Doha, Miami (which she can achieve here) and Canada.

More to come…
