Alize Cornet says she is considering working with a sports psychologist to break out of the slump that has seen her drop to No. 65 from No. 11 a year ago.
"I've been asked about the subject of a mental trainer," she told French press after a first-round loss at the Paris Indoors. "I'll think about it. It's a good oppotunity for me to learn something else. Why not?"
The 20-year-old Frenchwoman freely admits to suffering a crisis of confidence but is trying to remain positive. "For me, It's not a downward spiral. Right now, the work isn't paying off. It's not always easy... you have to persevere. As Amelie [Mauresmo] said to me recently, perseverance is the key."
