As Danielle Collins continues her path of destruction through the biggest events on the women’s tour, her ranking continues to shoot back up—and this week she makes another big leap.

After winning her second consecutive title in Charleston, the American rises from No. 22 to No. 15 on this week’s WTA rankings, her first time in the Top 15—or even the Top 20—since January 2023, when she was ranked No. 11 during the Australian Open.

Collins has now cut her ranking from No. 71 to No. 15 in two months.

DANIELLE COLLINS’ TWO-MONTH RANKING SURGE:
No. 71 to No. 63 on February 12th [after 2nd Rd in Abu Dhabi]
No. 63 to No. 46 on February 19th [after QFs in Doha]
No. 53 to No. 22 on April 1st [after winning Miami]
No. 22 to No. 15 on April 8th [after winning Charleston]

And it’s very possible that the former No. 7 is headed back to the Top 10, too. She’s defending a total of only 81 ranking points over the next four months—in that period last year she played only three tournaments and went 1-3, falling first round at Roland Garros, second round at Wimbledon and first round in Washington D.C.

Berrettini finished four straight years in the Top 20 from 2019 to 2022 before injuries marred his 2023 season.

This past week’s other title winners also made notable moves.

Matteo Berrettini made the biggest leap of them all, rising 51 spots from No. 135 to No. 84 after winning the clay-court event in Marrakech, Morocco. The former No. 6 returned from a six-month ankle injury lay-off a month ago—he was ranked No. 36 the last time he had played at the US Open last summer, but due to inactivity he started dropping down, bottoming out at No. 154 in March.

But since coming back he’s reached the final of a Challenger in Phoenix, pushed Andy Murray to three sets in the first round of Miami, and now—in Marrakech—he won his eighth career ATP title.

Also: Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz is at his career-high ranking again, rising from No. 10 back to No. 8 after winning the title in Estoril; American Ben Shelton sets a new career-high ranking, rising from No. 16 to No. 14 after winning Houston; and Colombia’s Camila Osorio jumps 22 spots from No. 85 to No. 63, her highest ranking since February 2023, after winning a title on home soil in Bogota.

Townsend got the fifth Top 20 win of her career in Charleston last week, defeating No. 15-ranked Samsonova in the second round.

Last but certainly not least, a full-circle moment.

American Taylor Townsend rises from No. 68 to a new career-high of No. 57 after a third-round showing in Charleston, surpassing her previous high of No. 61 she set in 2018, before she became a mom.

She had her son, Adyn, in March 2021, returned to the tour in April 2022, broke back into the Top 100 in 2023 and is now just a few spots away from breaking into the Top 50 for the first time.

Speaking of Top 50 debuts, Frenchwoman Diane Parry makes hers this week, rising from No. 51 to No. 49—the 21-year-old now the only woman in the Top 50 with a one-handed backhand.
