Daniil Medvedev has become the first player, male or female, to record 25 tour-level wins this year after steamrolling Roberto Carballes Baena, 6-1, 6-2, in his opening match in Miami.

Medvedev finished the match with 18 winners to 13 unforced errors and was never broken—he only faced one break point all match.

The Russian is now 25-3 on the year, going 5-2 during the Australian season but 20-1 since, his only loss on the tour in the last month and a half coming to Carlos Alcaraz in the Indian Wells final.
