In his first singles tournament since undergoing a second wrist surgery, Juan Martin del Potro lost in the first round at the Miami Open. He said he plans to play again in Monte Carlo in two weeks.

"It will be either Monte Carlo or the next tournament," he said to Argentine press. "The best training is tournaments."

The 26-year-old could also choose to start the following week in Barcelona or Bucharest. He indicated that his wrist is still painful when hitting two-handed backhands, but is improving. "It still bothers me, but not as much as before," he said.

Kyrgios, who withdrew from Miami with an ankle sprain he sustained at Indian Wells, has been in Melbourne training and says he is now in better physical shape following a series of injuries.

"I'm just doing everything I can. I'm monitoring my ankle and just looking at everything to get healthy," he told the *Sydney Morning Herald*.

The 19-year-old Australian is also entered in Barcelona the following week after Monte Carlo. Del Potro is ranked No. 616, while Kygios is now in the Top 40 in the ATP rankings.
