Juan Martin del Potro has pulled out of next week's Masters in Shanghai, feeling the toll of his return to competition two weeks ago.
A reoccurence of wrist problems is not the reason for the withdrawal, his agent told DPA. "The wrist is perfect," Ugo Colombini said. "But Juan Martin has some small physical problems. After not playing for so long, he is missing a bit of rhythm, there is a lot of pressure and the body is not used to it."
Del Potro missed most of this season with a wrist injury that required surgery in May. He has lost in the first round of both events he has played since returning.
