Bosnian-American Amer Delic beats Turkey’s Marsel Ilhan, 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (1), 6-7 (6) 11-9 to lead Bosnia-Herzegovina a to 3-1 Davis Cup victory in Ankara, Turkey. The 29-year-old Delic was involved in winning all three points of the Europe/Africa Zone Group II tie. Delic, who starred for the University of Illinois and became the first Bosnain refugee to play in the main draw of the U.S. Open, said he had one match point in the fourth set, and that his second did not come until an hour and half later.
