Casey Dellacqua, still experiencing concussion symptoms, is extending her break from the tour.

The 31-year-old fell during a doubles match in Beijing last October and has yet to resume playing regularly.

"I thought that I was fully recovered from my concussion injury, but I feel like I need a bit more time to get 100 percent healthy,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’m going to take a bit of time away from competition. I look forward to being back on tour and competing again soon when I am ready."

The Australian has played just one match this season. She lost that contest, 6-1, 6-0, to Tsvetana Pironkova in San Antonio.

Dellacqua's representatives told AAP that the break would include the grass-court season.
