Novak Djokovic's father Srdjan, backed by his son, has moved to take control over the Serbian tennis federation, report Serbian press.

Srdjan has nominated three names for election to the board, all Serbian businessmen who have pledged to donate funds to the federation. "If they do not, I will personally take over the financing of the federation and Serbian tennis," said Srdjan.

Meanwhile, federation president Slobodan Zivojinovic has expressed his intention to run for re-election, pledging a "realistic programme devoid of unrealistic promises."

"I do not promise towers and cities, but it will be better for four years -- it cannot be worse than this," said Srdjan Djokovic. "I'm not in a political campaign, but working for the benefit of Serbian tennis."

The central issue appears to be securing funding for a national tennis center. Victor Troicki, who clinched the Davis Cup for Serbia earlier this month, backed the move. "People in the federation so far have promised a lot, and not much was accomplished, starting with the national tennis center," said Troicki. "...there is no plan for the center."
