Australian Ashley Fisher retires. The doubles specialist reached the semis of the 2006 U.S. Open and won four tour titles. The 36-year-old resides in St. Petersburg, Fla, with wife Kirsten and their newborn son Holden. Fisher, who has also done TV and radio commentary, said that knee injuries got the best of him. He told that doubles will be in a transition period in the next few years as some of the better veterans will retire. "The Bryans are not going anywhere and will continue to dominate for years,” he said. “I expect singles players to step in and start winning a lot more. Teams like Jurgen Melzer-Philipp Petzschner winning Slams will become more of a regular occurrence."
