Younes El Aynaoui will play the final match of his career in Doha after receiving a wildcard from the tournament for the occasion.
El Aynaoui, 38, won the event in 2002 but has not played on the ATP tour since 2008 becuase of injuries.
"Younes asked for a wildcard because he wants to retire in Doha," tournament director Karim Alami, a fellow Morrocan and former ATP contemporary, told the Gulf News. "[H]e thought it would be apt for him to call it quits at a place which is very close to his heart."
