Elena Rybakina made a sensational start to her WTA Finals campaign on Saturday night, storming past Amanda Anisimova for her first round-robin win of the week, 6-3, 6-1.

And with that victory over the world No. 4 came a pretty nifty stat: Rybakina has now beaten every Top 10 ranking in her career.

No. 4 was the only one missing in her collection.

RYBAKINA'S FIRST CAREER WINS OVER EACH TOP 10 RANKING:

  • d. No. 1 Swiatek in '24 Australian Open 4th Rd
  • d. No. 2 Jabeur in '22 Wimbledon F
  • d. No. 3 Pliskova in '20 Dubai QFs
  • d. No. 4 Anisimova in '25 WTA Finals RR
  • d. No. 5 Svitolina in '21 Eastbourne 2nd Rd
  • d. No. 6 Halep in '19 Wuhan 3rd Rd
  • d. No. 7 Garcia in '18 St. Petersburg 2nd Rd
  • d. No. 8 Serena in '21 Roland Garros 4th Rd
  • d. No. 9 Muguruza in '21 Olympics QFs
  • d. No. 10 Badosa in '25 Dubai 3rd Rd

She's actually beaten every Top 15 ranking. She's only missing five from the Top 50—No. 16, No. 25, No. 34, No. 37 and No. 43.

She now has 27 total career wins over Top 10 players.

HIGHLIGHTS: Elena Rybakina puts on serving clinic against Amanda Anisimova | 2025 WTA Finals RR

Rybakina and Anisimova were playing each other for the first time on Saturday, but Rybakina looked like she knew exactly what to do from the start, serving up a storm—she faced only one break point in the match and saved it, and converting four of her own five break point chances to cruise to victory after just 57 minutes.

The Kazakh continues to be one of the hottest players on the women's tour in the second half of the season, now 24-6 since Wimbledon, and more specifically 11-2 since the US Open.

She's now won her last seven matches in a row—she won four matches to capture the WTA 500 title in Ningbo two weeks ago, then picked up another two wins at another WTA 500 event in Tokyo last week before having to withdraw from the tournament because of back pain, and now another win in Riyadh.

She's now 1-0 in her round-robin group, and hopes to flip the script this year on her two previous appearances at the WTA Finals, falling in the round-robin stage in 2023 and 2024 with 1-2 records.
