PARIS(AP) Roger Federer made it through to the fourth round of the French Open despite losing another set Saturday, beating Paul-Henri Mathieu of France 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-4.
The three-time finalist from Switzerland again started slow but got his forehand working as the match progressed.
Federer has lost to Rafael Nadal in each of the last three French Open finals. Federer only needs a title at Roland Garros to complete a career Grand Slam.
