Roger Federer has once again decided not to play in a World Group Davis Cup tie. The Swiss Tennis Federation announced its team that will face Serbia in Novi Sad on January 31, which includes Stanislas Wawrinka, Marco Chiudinelli, Henri Laaksonen, and Michael Lammer.

Federer has only played one Davis Cup World Group tie since 2004, but has competed in some Playoff ties to help keep Switzerland in the World Group. Switzerland has never won a Davis Cup title.

Serbia’s team will be announced on Monday and world No. 2 Novak Djokovic’s participation is also up in the air, as is that of the injured Janko Tipsarevic, who has yet to play this season.
