Roger Federer considers his 2010 ``a very successful season,'' one that began with an Australian Open championship and ended with a victory over Rafael Nadal for the title at the ATP World Tour Finals.
In a telephone interview with The Associated Press on Monday, Federer said beating his rival a day earlier in the last tournament of the year allows him to head into the offseason in a good frame of mind.
Federer acknowledged that Nadal had a ``supreme'' year, which included three major titles and a return to the No. 1 ranking.
But Federer noted that he was pleased to overcome a midseason dip - quarterfinal losses at the French Open and Wimbledon - to finish strongly.
Federer said, ``Every time people write me off - or try to write me off - I'm able to bounce back.''
