Roger Federer and Andy Murray will met in the final of Shanghai after Federer defeated Novak Djokovic 7-5, 6-4 in the semifinals and Murray won against Juan Monaco 6-4, 6-1.

Federer reversed the result of his U.S. Open semifinal against Djokovic, which the Serb won in five sets after saving two match points.

"I think first set could have gone either way today," said Federer. "I got the better of him at the end of the first set. I think for 10 minutes he was a bit out of it and I was able to take advantage of that. I think that cost him the match looking back."

"The start of the second set, I lost my focus a little bit, my energy dropped," said Djokovic. "In a blink of the eye, I was two breaks down at 4-1."

The highlight of the other semifinal came at 5-3 in the first set, with Murray returning three overheads with a broken string before Monaco missed his fourth smash. The Argentine won only one more game.

"I was totally unfocused after that," said Monaco.

"Points like that can sort of change matches a little bit. But I was still feeling quite comfortable, even at that stage," said Murray.
