Here's a look at the latest off-court exploits during this wonderfully brief off-season for the stars and also-rans of the WTA and ATP tours.

TURN THE BEAT AROUND  Serena Williams sways and dances and generally gives good face to the camera in Beats By Dre's new TV spot. Of all the monochromatic looks in the video, Serena's pretty-in-pink attire and staging is especially striking:

#BLESSRF  Roger Federer engaged in another of his animated #AskRF Twitter Q&A sessions, and this time he outed himself as one with scads and oodles of holiday spirit, tweeting photos of the Fed family's Christmas tree and himself in a Santa hat when he wasn't demystifying how to tell the Bryan brothers apart. PS: Of course that is Fed's holiday tree. It's pristinely decorated, all but immaculate.

A-ROD ROCKS NUDE TEE  Andy Roddick can't get enough of John Isner's naked self for ESPN The Magazine's "Body Issue" from earlier this year, sporting a T-shirt with Isner's PhotoShopped body at a charity hit last week. Roddick's wife, Brooklyn Decker, photographed the "fashion" and tweeted it, rendering the joint images forever burned into the back of tennis fans' minds everywhere. Still, this episode doesn't trump the fact that Isner's very own grandfather has done the same.

MURRAY SKIPS OUT Andy Murray let the BBC know that he will bail on the Sports Personality of the Year ceremony, opting instead to train for the impending 2014 season at his home base in Miami. Murray is a favorite for the award, having claimed his second Grand Slam singles title during 2013 and breaking his homeland's curse in the Wimbledon men's singles realm.

What do you think of Murray's choice? And what's your favorite news item away from the pro courts this week?
