The Spaniard, who retired from the WTA Tour in April 2024 and tied the knot with Borges six months later, has remained actively involved with her sport. For the past two editions, Muguruza has served as the WTA Finals tournament director. Last month, it was revealed that she was joining Feliciano Lopez as co-tournament director of the Mutua Madrid Open.
“This tournament has always embraced innovation and pushed boundaries, and I’m especially excited to join a project that keeps evolving and isn’t afraid to lead meaningful change in our sport,” she said at the time.
The 32-year-old also hosted the Tennis Channel original, “VIP Tennis Lounge with Garbiñe Muguruza”, in 2025. The relaxed interview format featured Muguruza interviewing the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Aryna Sabalenla and Coco Gauff among others.
