LAUSANNE, Switzerland(AP) French tennis player Richard Gasquet will find out within a month if he has been banned after testing positive for cocaine.

Gasquet told the Court of Arbitration for Sport on Tuesday that he failed a drug test because he kissed a woman in a nightclub who contaminated him with cocaine.

He was suspended for 2 1/2 months but the World Anti-Doping Agency and International Tennis Federation appealed to CAS to give him a doping ban of at least one year.

CAS said a verdict is expected in early December.

Gasquet tested positive the day after pulling out injured from the Miami Masters in March.

An independent tribunal called by the ITF had cleared the 2007 Wimbledon semifinalist to resume his career.
