Richard Gasquet has hired Italian Riccardo Piatti as his new coach, reports L’Equipe. Gasquet will also continue to be advised by former Top 10 player Sebastien Grosjean, especially during the upcoming Indian Wells and Miami swing. Gasquet has parted ways with Eric Deblicker, who was just promoted to deputy CEO of the Lagardere Paris Racing. Piatti helped bring Ivan Ljubicic to No. 3 in the world.

"Everybody knows Richard’s an excellent player," Piatti said. "He’s still young and had to live with huge expectations because of his early success. He has to be given time to grow and better manage his emotions."
