Paolini and Errani stormed back to defeat Elena-Gabriela Ruse and Marta Kostyuk, 1-6, 6-4, 6-1. The 11th-seeded Italian duo has now won 10 consecutive matches, having triumphed on home soil in Rome.

Errani is into her first major doubles final in nearly 10 years, when she and Roberta Vinci tasted victory at 2014 Wimbledon. Errani and Vinci captured the Roland Garros crown in 2012 and advanced to the final the following two years.

Gauff has adapted during the European clay-court swing with partner Jessica Pegula sidelined by injury. The 20-year-old finished runner-up to Errani and Paolini at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia alongside Erin Routliffe.

Gauff and Siniakova have beaten three fellow seeded tandems en route to the title match.

Joining forces with Siniakova in the French capital, the No. 5 seeds also rallied from a set down to come through, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2. Like Errani and Paolini, this marked the first time in the event Gauff and Siniakova were forced to play three sets.

Two of Siniakova’s seven Grand Slam trophies with former partner Barbora Krejcikova came at the clay-court major in 2018 and 2021. For Gauff, she’s looking to reverse history after losing her first two major doubles finals in deciding sets at the 2021 US Open and 2022 Roland Garros.
