Simona Halep has officially announced that Darren Cahill will be her coach next season.

The Romanian has worked with the Australian coach for much of the 2015 season through the Adidas program, which is shutting down soon.

The two will formally begin their partnership at the beginning of 2016. This is the third year in a row that Halep will start a season with a new coach. She worked with Wim Fissette in 2014, but switched despite doing really well, saying she wanted to work with a Romanian coach. She began the 2015 season with Victor Ionita, also taking on Thomas Hogstedt as a consultant for three months, before cutting ties after Wimbledon.

Halep lost early at the French Open and Wimbledon, but reached the semifinals at the U.S. Open.

On Facebook, the world No. 2 said that Cahill will "keep his role as men's tennis analyst for the grand slam events on the U.S. sports network ESPN, which will not prevent him from coaching me full-time."
