Justine Henin has come through 7-5, 7-6(6) against Elena Dementieva to win their highly-anticipated clash in the second round of the Australian Open.

Facing set point in both sets, Henin held firm to record the most significant victory of her comeback so far.

"To play this kind of match after two years off in a Grand Slam, it's just the kind of situation that I needed," said Henin. "That's why I probably came back on the tour, was to live this kind of matches."

Henin next faces another dangerous opponent, Alisa Kleybanova.
