HIGHLIGHTS: Roger Federer tops John Isner in The Match for Africa 4

On Saturday evening, the Tennis Channel will broadcast The Match for Africa 4, an exhibition match that will benefit the Roger Federer Foundation.

The match, which will air live on the Tennis Channel at 9 p.m. ET from Seattle, will feature Federer—an 18-time Grand Slam champion and arguably the greatest player of all time—against American and former world No. 9 John Isner. The two ATP pros will play a three-set singles match. The charity event will also feature a doubles match, pitting Federer and iconic Microsoft founder Bill Gates against Isner and Pearl Jam lead guitarist Mike McCready.

TENNIS.com will livestream the opening ceremonies from KeyArena in Seattle, beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET, and then the entirety of the event. Tennis Channel’s television broadcast coverage will begin at 9 p.m. ET.

This will mark the first time that Federer has ever played in Seattle, a city that hasn’t held a professional men’s tennis tournament since 1973.

Mary Carillo will call the matches for Tennis Channel, and Paul Annacone—Federer’s former coach—and former professional Mark Knowles will serve as analysts.

This exhibition is the fourth Match for Africa, and the first to be located outside of Zurich, Switzerland. The most recent Match for Africa, held earlier this month and featuring world No. 1 Andy Murray, raised $1.4 million for the Roger Federer Foundation.

Federer’s foundation, which was established in 2003, supports educational projects located in southern Africa and Switzerland. 277,000 children are currently benefiting from the foundation’s programs. By 2018, the foundation’s goal is to “support one million children in receiving access to education of a convincing quality.”
