Date, who had a calf injury flare up against Safina, was struggling to run during the match. "Yesterday I took an MRI. I went to the clinic, and doctor said, of course, Don't play," said Date. "Results was not good, but I had the same problem before... sometimes I don't feel the pain.
"My character, it's not -- don't like to retire or don't play," she added. "I want to try do my best, and I tried to continue."
