How will the The Amazing Race, authored by the Big 3, unfold in 2021?

At the start of 2020, the Grand Slam singles title leaderboard looked like this: Federer–20, Nadal–19 and Djokovic–16. Heading into 2021, Nadal is now level with Federer, and Djokovic kept pace to stay within three of his chief rivals.

Can this chase be turned completely on its head this season? That question will likely be answered at the Australian Open and Roland Garros. Nadal has tasted victory just once Down Under and has since lost four title match appearances (including two to the Serbian). Likewise, Djokovic has left Roland Garros with one trophy, finishing runner-up on four occasions (three at the hands of the Spaniard).

As ever, Wimbledon is Federer’s best chance to make a stand, though the Swiss has been tripped up by Djokovic in three championship clashes at SW19 (2014, 2015 and 2019).
