"I'm feeling like Iron Man"; Jamie Murray training more than ever

Although Jamie Murray is cooped up inside his London home due to the coronavirus, he's making the most of it, using the time to improve physically while also having some fun.

Everything from soccer to golf, the seven-time major doubles champion is tackling just about every challenge out there on social media. Most recently Murray, and his wife Alejandra took brother Andy Murray up on his 100-volley challenge.

"We've been beating them in Monopoly the last few times we've played them online. So, we thought we would get them at that and we'll get them at tennis as well," said Jamie laughingly.

Alejandra has also gotten Jamie on a fitness routine. She brought her weights outside in hopes to convince Jamie to do the same, and it worked out perfectly.

"This is the most I've ever trained. I'm feeling like Iron Man all of a sudden," said Murray.

The doubles specialist is working on his footwork, explosion and overall strength from home, without much in the way of workout equipment. Murray explained that the drills are simple but very effective, and he's done them many times over the course of his career.

"I think I also wanted to show people that if you suddenly find yourselves stuck at home, maybe you don't have access to the regular equipment or gyms, or people who don't really exercise at all—just to kind of show them ways you can exercise with being a little bit creative," said Murray. "You don't actually need any equipment, just yourself and you can still get a good workout."

When Jamie isn't running through his daily workout routines or taking on social challenges, he's keeping in touch family and his mother Judy via Zoom.

"She's so used to being on her feet and being so active and so busy," said Murray. "For her I'm imagining it's been quite difficult to kind of sit still for a period of time. But, she seems to be doing fine and in good spirits."
