Iga Swiatek defeated Emma Raducanu at Roland Garros on Wednesday, 6-1, 6-2, to not only win her 23rd match in a row at the clay-court major, but to extend another monster streak.

With her second-round victory over the 2021 US Open champion, Swiatek is still the only tennis player, female or male, to reach the third round or better at every Grand Slam this decade.

That’s 21 Grand Slams in a row since the start of 2020.

She’s now won 42 matches in a row in the first two rounds of majors.

Swiatek had never lost a set to Raducanu in four previous meetings, and things went the exact same way on Court Philippe Chatrier on Wednesday as she stormed to another two-set victory, breaking twice per set and fighting off all four break points she faced herself.

She blasted 32 winners in 79 minutes, which is roughly one every two-and-a-half minutes, and that 32nd winner came on match point in the form of a big, unreachable backhand down the line.

"I just want to play my game, and I felt good on court, so I thought I could do whatever I planned to, whatever I wanted to," she said about the match in her on-court interview. "I just needed to adjust to the wind, because the conditions were pretty tricky today.

"I'm happy that I did that well."

It was Swiatek's milestone 90th career win at a major.

Awaiting her in the third round will be the winner of the match between Romania's Jaqueline Cristian and Czech teen Sara Bejlek.
