The injury toll amongst the men’s Top 20 has mounted just eight days prior to the U.S. Open. All four men who reached the semifinals of Cincinnati have suffered some sort of recent injury, with world No. 1 Novak Djokovic retiring in the second set of the final with Andy Murray due to a shoulder problem.

The day before, Czech Tomas Berdych retired with a shoulder injury against Djokovic. Mardy Fish, who has been playing a relentless schedule this summer, suffered a heel injury during his semifinal loss to Murray, who himself was complaining about a sore arm.

However, all believe they will be good to go in New York.

As it stands, 12 of the top 20 men have been hurt post-Wimbledon: Djokovic, Murray, Fish, Berdych, Rafael Nadal, Robin Soderling, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Andy Roddick, David Ferrer, Gilles Simon, Richard Gasquet and Jurgen Melzer.

Soderling announced on Twitter that his sore wrist is feeling better and he will travel to New York on Monday.

On the women’s side, No. 11 Andrea Petkovic joined 10 other members of the WTA Top 20 to suffer a post-Wimbledon injury, with the German experiencing a slight tear in her knee in Cincinnati.

In other news, young Canadian Milos Raonic reported on Twitter that his surgically repaired hip "is fully healed, I'm excited and happy, now its time to get into shape."
