Former world No. 1 Ana Ivanovic has pulled out of the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati with a tear in her right foot. The former Roland Garros champion was suffering from pain in her foot last week in Montreal where Roberta Vinci double bageled her. Ivanovic had an MRI this past weekend which revealed a tear in her foot, TENNIS.com has learned. She has been told by doctors to rest for five days and will be re-evaluated before she begins to practice for the US Open. The 10th-seeded Ivanovic will have her seeding spot taken by Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. Lucky loser Ana Tatishvili will take Ivanovic's place in the draw. No. 1 Victoria Azarenka (sore knee) and No. 3 Maria Sharapova (stomach virus) have also pulled out of the tournament. - Matt Cronin
