Ana Ivanovic has pulled out of Strasbourg with a left wrist injury that hasn’t responded to treatment for the last two weeks. The 2008 Roland Garros champion believes she’ll be fit to play in Paris, but a lack of practice time is said to be concerning.

Ivanovic, who ended 2010 strongly by winning the year-end WTA B-Level Championships in Bali, has been troubled by injuries for most of this season, including a strained abdominal muscle she suffered at the Hopman Cup, the year's opening event. That injury has bothered her on and off all season.

"I've had this pain for a while now, despite physical therapy,” the 21st-ranked Serbian said of her wrist injury on her web site. "My doctor has told me to rest it completely for a few days, and I'm having treatments twice a day. Considering that it is not my racket hand, I can still practice, but backhands are out of the question for the next few days. I expect to be fit for Roland Garros."
