Jankovic advances to 3rd round at French Open

PARIS(AP) Jelena Jankovic moved into the third round of the French Open by beating Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia 6-1, 6-2 Thursday.

The two-time French Open semifinalist broke her opponent in the final game of the first set, and then recovered from an early break in the second to win four straight games. Jankovic broke for the sixth time of the match in the final game.

The fifth-seeded Jankovic reached the semifinals at the last two French Opens, and made last year's U.S. Open final, but she has yet to win a Grand Slam title.
