Jannik Sinner is through to the final in Vienna after defeating Alex de Minaur in the semifinals of the ATP 500 event on Saturday, 6-3, 6-4.

It's his eighth final of the year, and having reached eight finals last year as well, he's the first man to reach eight or more finals in back-to-back years since Novak Djokovic did it in 2015 and 2016.

It was also his 20th win in a row on indoor hard courts, making him just the eighth man in the Open Era to achieve that feat after John McEnroe, Ivan Lendl, Stefan Edberg, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer, Djokovic and most recently Andy Murray between 2016 and 2019.

But he hit another, even bigger milestone on Saturday.

Sinner's victory over the No. 7-ranked De Minaur was the 50th Top 10 win of his career. The Italian, who was born in 2001, is the first man born in the 2000s—or even in 1998 or later—to reach that milestone.

Sinner has now also won his last 20 matches in a row against Top 10 players other than Alcaraz, a stretch that dates back to last summer.

He's also a perfect 12-0 against De Minaur now, regardless of ranking.

And a day after recording his 50th Top 10 win, he'll go for his 51st.

Awaiting Sinner in the final in Vienna on Sunday will be another Top 10 player, either world No. 3 Zverev or world No. 8 Lorenzo Musetti, who squared off in the second semifinal of the day.
