Jannik Sinner crowned king of the Six Kings Slam with three-set comeback against Carlos Alcaraz

Jannik Sinner the last king standing. The world No. 1 rallied for a 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-3 win over Carlos Alcaraz in Saturday's final of the Six Kings Slam, pocketing a cool $6 million as the champion of the Saudi Arabian exhibition event.

Despite the match not officially counting in tour-level head-to-head, the win was notable for the Italian, who lost all three ATP meetings with Alcaraz this year, including in the final of the China Open earlier this month.

And he nearly saw Alcaraz escape with a fourth straight win against him. After failing to capitalize on a 4-1 lead in the opening set, Sinner also saw the Spaniard level the second set at 3-3 from 3-1 up. But Sinner broke Alcaraz's serve twice more in the middle set, and never faced break point in the third set, en route to the comeback victory.

“I wake up in the morning trying to understand the ways to beat him," Sinner said after the match. "These kind of rivalries and players push us to our 100% limit. I’m happy about this today. But the reason we came here was to show all of you what tennis is about. It can be long sometimes, like today. But we just try our best. Hopefully, you enjoyed the show.”

Alcaraz double-faulted on break point in the eighth game of the final set to hand Sinner the break of serve that decided the match.

The Spaniard said that his fast-developing rivalry with Sinner forces him to "push myself to the limit."

"I want to say I’m grateful to have him around on tour," he said.

"I give my 100% every day to be a better player," Alcaraz added. "It’s a pleasure every time I share the court with him. Sometimes it’s tough to find the joy. But it’s great every time I face him.”
