ZipRecruiter Player Resume: Jannik Sinner

Jannik Sinner, coming off a quarterfinal run at Wimbledon, has withdrawn from next week's clay-court event in Hamburg with an ankle injury.

But the tournament has a new top seed in the women's field, where Anett Kontaveit, ranked No. 2, has received a wildcard.

The 20-year-old Italian was up two sets against Novak Djokovic at the All England Club, but fell in five sets against the eventual champion.

"I slightly twisted my ankle when I fell during my quarterfinal and as a precaution, we decided it was the best to take some more time before my next event in Umag," said a statement from Sinner.

The world No. 10 also got to the fourth round at the French Open, but had to retire with a knee injury against Andrey Rublev.
