Volcanic ash-related travel delays prevented Japan's Fed Cup team from leaving for Slovenia for this weekend’s Fed Cup tie until Thursday. The Kyodo News reported that the Japan Tennis Association had asked the ITF to postpone the match two days, but said it only was granted a four-hour delay and the tie will be on Saturday.—M.C.
