Michael Venus of New Zealand and Ryan Harrison of the United States have won the men's doubles final at the French Open.

The duo beat Donald Young, who is also from the U.S., and Santiago Gonzalez of Mexico 7-6 (5), 6-7 (4), 6-3.

They clinched their second tour-level title — and their first at a Grand Slam tournament — on their second match point, when Gonzalez hit a forehand long.

5:15 p.m.

Unseeded Jelena Ostapenko has won the French Open, beating No. 3 Simona Halep 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 to claim her first tour-level title.

The 20-year-old Ostapenko, who is ranked 47th, clinched it with her first match point, with a backhand down the line.

Ostapenko hit 54 winners and had as many unforced errors.

Unseeded Jelena Ostapenko has leveled the French Open final by winning the second set 6-4 against No. 3 Simona Halep of Romania.

The 20-year-old Ostapenko fought back from 3-0 down in the set and the Latvian wrapped it up with a forehand down the line, her 36th winner of the match.

Halep won the opening set 6-4.

Third-seeded Simona Halep has won the opening set 6-4 in the French Open final against unseeded Jelena Ostapenko.

Halep sealed it on the fifth break of serve of the set when Ostapenko hit a forehand long.

The 20-year-old Ostapenko hit 14 winners but made 23 unforced errors, while Halep made just two but only hit one winner.

Whitney Osuigwe became the fifth American to win the girls' title at the French Open on Saturday.

The 15-year-old Osuigwe defeated Claire Liu, who is aged 17, in the second ever all-American final. Osuigwe won the match 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-3.

Alexei Popyrin of Australia won the boys' title by defeating Nicola Kuhn of Spain 7-6 (5), 6-3. The 17-year-old player is the first Australian to win the boys' title at Roland Garros in 49 years.

Kathy Horvath defeated Kelly Henry in the 1980 girls' final, the only other all-American girls' final at Roland Garros. Only three other Americans have won the French Open girls' singles title: Anne Smith, Bonnie Gadusek and Jennifer Capriati.

Third-seeded Simona Halep of Romania is facing unseeded Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia on Court Philippe Chatrier.

Both are seeking their first Grand Slam title.

Third-seeded Simona Halep of Romania will face unseeded Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia in the women's final at the French Open.

The winner Saturday will be a first-time Grand Slam champion.

If Halep wins, she also will move up to No. 1 in the rankings for the first time. She was the runner-up at Roland Garros in 2014.

The 20-year-old Ostapenko had never been past the third round at a Grand Slam tournament until this one. This is only the eighth major of her career.

The men's doubles final is also Saturday, with two Americans on opposite sides: Ryan Harrison of the U.S. and Michael Venus of New Zealand go up against Donald Young of the U.S. and Santiago Gonzalez of Mexico.
