Karolina Pliskova has brought in a former Grand Slam champion as a coach just days before the US Open.

Conchita Martinez announced that she would be on the No. 8's team during the Grand Slam, and the two would be training together before the event.

In 2017, Martinez coached Garbine Muguruza to a win at Wimbledon, also filling in for her regular coach, and has been Spain's Fed Cup captain.

Pliskova recently split with Tomas Krupa, having just brought him on around a year ago, and was being coached by Rennae Stubbs, who will re-join her, following Flushing Meadows.

The 26-year-old from the Czech Republic is a former finalist at the US Open.

Pliskova, a former No. 1, is coming off an opening-round defeat at New Haven.
