WIMBLEDON, England (AP)—Nicolas Kiefer of Germany is one of five players to receive a wild card into the men’s draw at Wimbledon.
The No. 181-ranked Kiefer reached the Australian Open semifinals in 2006 and is joined by Russian pair Teimuraz Gabashvili and Andrey Kuznetsov, Britain’s Jamie Baker and Japan’s Kei Nishikori. The tournament starts June 21.
Four British women—Katie O’Brien, Melanie South, Laura Robson and Heather Watson—were also given wild cards Monday.
