WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Alex Kuznetsov earned a wild card into the French Open's main draw from the U.S. Tennis Association based on results on the USTA Pro Circuit.

The 26-year-old Kuznetsov, of Richboro, Pa., and Tampa, Fla., had the best combined results at clay-court challenger tournaments in Sarasota, Fla., Savannah, Ga., and Tallahassee, Fla. He is currently ranked 176th.

Kuznetsov was the junior runner-up at Roland Garros in 2004. He has played in qualifying rounds at the French Open four times.

The USTA will also give a woman a wild card for the French Open based on clay-court results.

The U.S. Open and French Open award trade wild-card invitations every year.

The French Open starts May 26.
