COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP)—Second-seeded Li Na of China beat Elena Baltacha of Britain 6-3, 6-2 on Wednesday to reach the quarterfinals of the Danish Open.
Li broke her opponent three times and never lost serve in the second round of the inaugural event.
In other second-round matches, seventh-seeded Klara Zakopalova of Czech Republic beat Tatjana Malek of Germany 6-0, 6-3, and No. 5 Julia Goerges beat fellow German Kristina Barrois 6-3, 6-2.
Goerges will next face the winner of Thursday's second-round match between top-seeded Dane Caroline Wozniacki and Iveta Benesova of the Czech Republic.
