Li Na shares baby joy with photo of girl Alisa

Alisa, welcome to our world.

The tennis world is agog at the news of Li Na's baby joy. Her management firm, IMG, announced the news via social media and the tweeters that be took it from there.

This new little human breathed on her own for the first time at 2:25 a.m. on Wednesday, and she made her mark early. (And if she's anything like her mother, she will make her mark often.)

Alisa weighs in at three kilograms, or more than six-and-a-half pounds. She happens to share a birthday with Rafael Nadal; perhaps she has quite a future ahead of her:

After she announced her pregnancy in an appearance at the Australian Open in January, an obviously pregnant Li and husband Dennis appeared at the Laureus World Sports Awards in mid-April in Shanghai.

The two-time major champion has now seized her goals both on and off the tennis court. Congrats to the happy family, and to longtime dreams realized.
