World No. 15 Diego Schwartzman will have his work cut out for him when he faces world No. 108 Jack Draper in Eastbourne on Wednesday. Schwartzman, who lost to world No. 99 Sam Querrey in less than an hour in Queen's Club opener last week, is extremely unproven on grass—and is why he finds himself as an underdog against a player that isn’t even inside the ATP’s Top 100.

Draper is also fresh off of an impressive win over world No. 34 Jenson Brooksby; the Brit earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory in just over an hour. Draper is now 3-2 on grass since the start of June, so he should be feeling pretty good about where his game stands on the slick surface. The big lefty has a game that really fits well on grass, with a powerful serve and a rather impressive forehand. That allows him to quickly handle his business on service games, and he also has the ability to put points away early.

Schwartzman’s game isn’t nearly as good of a match for the surface. The Argentine likes to extend points and find ways to grind out wins, but rallies are a lot shorter on grass. And big servers like Draper have an advantage, especially against players like Schwartzman that have trouble holding serve. There’s a reason that Schwartzman has won only 35 percent of his matches on grass, and that’s why he’s going off at plus-money here.

Schwartzman hasn’t played many matches on grass at all, while it's a (relative) staple in England. Draper is no stranger to it—even if he does have only four tour-level victories on turf. All in all, look for Draper’s power to be the difference in this match-up, much like it was when he defeated Brooksby.
