Pardon our enthusiasm, but TennisWorld finally is firing on all cylinders as a full-featured blog. Chris Chung is back there in the server room, catching up on his sleep, and I’m as itchy-fingered as a hit man (which is what some people think I am, anyway) rarin’ to go. I’ll be posting starting this Saturday, but meanwhile, the last month or so of posts is available, and you can check out some of these new features at TennisWorld:
Comments: Now, Irate Readers can post comments—and pretty much anything else that can be typed, pasted, embedded, dragged, or otherwise rassled into the comments window, and thereby experience the same intoxicating sense of power and importance that, according to some Irate Readers, has turned me, in just a few short months, into an insufferable ass. Of course, you can also comment positively on a given post, but what fun would that be? And remember, you can still write to me—just click on the “Contact Us” item on the toolbar.
Search: This is a great feature. Just think, if I start writing about, oh, how awesome Rafael Nadal is, you can punch up his name in the Search window and see all the posts I’ve written about him, thereby determining if I’m a Rafa man or just another nauseating, craven press pariah, jumping on whatever bandwagon happens to roll along on the pike.
Categories: It’s always tricky to determine which post goes in which bin, but it sure beats scrolling through months worth of posts, trying to remember if it was Yevgeny Kafelnikov—or someone else—whom I had accused of being a fat, worthless pile of garbage. Now, you can click on any given item listed in Categories to see all the posts that fall into that category, as in “Davis Cup,” “Controversy/Scandal,” or “Arrogant Russian Jerks.”
Archives: Just click on the Archives button on the toolbar and you’ll have access to previous posts, going back months. We’re having a little delay getting all our archives (going back to TW’s inception at the end of last year) onto the new site, but we’re working on that. Remember, we’re still a work in progress. Our goals also include enabling you to send any given post to a friend via e-mail.
That’s all the tech stuff for now. Read on, friends, and keep the mail—and comments—coming!
