Robin Soderling has qualified for the ATP World Tour Finals in London, announces the ATP.
Spots for the year-end event go to the top eight players of the season. With Soderling reaching the quarterfinals in Stockholm this week, the draws at next week's events mean there is no possible combination of results that would see the Swede finish lower than eighth.
Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray have also secured their berths.
Most of the remaining contenders have been faring poorly at recent events. Of those scheduled to be in action this week, Tomas Berdych lost in the first round of Stockholm, Mikhail Youzhny pulled out of Moscow with illness, and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga lost in the second round of Moscow.
Players can add up to 250 points by winning events in Vienna, St. Petersburg and Montpellier next week, and 500 points by winning Basel or Valencia the week after. The Paris Masters, the last event before London, gives 1,000 points to the winner.
