#LoveAll: Andy Roddick shares feel-good stories amid COVID-19 crisis

It’s an understatement to say that the world could use some good news right now. Lockdowns have become the norm amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and simple gestures like hugs and handshakes have been replaced by social distancing. But even in this challenging and often terrifying reality, there are shining examples of good taking place.

To help promote positivity in these distressing times, Andy Roddick started the #LoveAll campaign, a digital way to share videos and pictures of people doing “inspiring things in the community.” Andy asked for such content. The world answered.

On Monday, the former world No. 1 highlighted just some of the feel-good stories he received.

Due to social distancing guidelines, Albert Connor was sadly not allowed to sit by his wife Kelly's side while she underwent a chemotherapy session. So he turned a negative into a positive, and came up with a creative way to offer some support.

“He parked across the street, set up a lone chair and Kelly was able to look across the street and see him throughout the entirety of her treatment that day that day,” Roddick said. “So Albert, way to be a great person! Kelly, good luck getting through it! We’re with you and we’re thinking about you.”

The ESPN sports reporter delivered meals to healthcare workers at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

“Your food deliveries in Texas were awesome,” the 2003 US Open champion said. “Thank you for documenting them and sharing them with us.”

Anna Willie from Atlanta organized an army of volunteers to help with deliveries last week.

“We appreciate you. Way to go," Roddick said. That is so, so, so, so great.”

Cathal Freeman ran a marathon in his backyard, raising more than 60,000 euros for the Irish Cancer Society and personal protective equipment needs.

“Unbelievable," Roddick said. "I don’t think I could run a marathon in the best of conditions, much less in a backyard going back and forth over the course of five and a half hours. That was so great. Congratulations.”
