"Lowly intern" Roddick enjoying growing demands of Tennis Channel gig

While Andy Roddick may still be learning the art of staging the perfect camera angle, his natural charisma and quick wit has translated seamlessly into his role as a Tennis Channel Live contributor.

"What do you think of your job so far?", asked host Steve Weissman.

"It's been pretty fun. I certainly appreciate Lindsay Davenport and Paul Annacone going to bat for this lowly intern," joked Roddick."When my time is up here, I'm not sure when they're going to kick me off but I might even apply for a paid position next time."

The former US Open champion has been building up stamina each week, as his task list continues to evolve.

"We add a new digital segment pretty much daily, so I should be up to 67 a day by the time we're at the end of this thing," Roddick said.

Annacone who "reviewed" the American's resume, apologized for misguiding Roddick on what was expected of him.

"I didn't tell you it was going to be about this personal stuff; how to trick your wife so you can get some good video footage and all the other stuff. So, I got to apologize, we've stretched it out a little," Annacone said with a laugh.

Roddick is staying connected with fans through his own segment, #AskAndy. On Monday, the former No. 1 revealed Wimbledon was a special place to him after being asked where he received the biggest support outside the U.S.

"It was a relationship that probably shouldn't have made sense and it just did," said Roddick."I'm the American who kind of threw things and was loud and sarcastic a little bit in press conferences. Wimbledon is this amazingly polished place with this tradition and these guidelines. It was like peanut butter and jelly, I just loved being there."

Roddick will return to TC Live on Wednesday.
