I hope to play good matches, give my best, stick to my routine and put into practice everything I’ve been training. Luis Guto Miguel

Successful junior career to first titles as a pro

One of the brightest prospects in Brazilian tennis, Guto Miguel has been collecting impressive results this season. In August, the teenager from Goías earned his first professional singles point at the Brasil Tennis Classic ITF World Tennis Tour M25 event in Sao Paulo, where he also won the doubles title alongside his brother Luis Felipe.

“This was a very positive week and the beginning of a professional career,” said Guto Miguel after lifting the trophy. “I got my first doubles title on the Pro Circuit, my first ATP ranking point in singles, and to do it all alongside my older brother, who is very special to me, makes it even better. We only see each other during his vacations, so I’m grateful to the organizers for the wild cards, which we made the most of.”

The following week the brothers earned another doubles title on home soil at the ITF World Tennis Tour M15 tournament in Joinville.

At junior level, Guto Miguel already boasts several international titles and was a semifinalist at the 2025 junior US Open, a result that secured him the No. 13 spot in the ITF junior rankings.

This season, he also made it to the third round of junior Wimbledon.

"Amazing experience" on the way for the teen

Playful and charismatic, the current world No. 1,701 in the ATP rankings will bring extra energy to the atmosphere of the Bahia event, which will mark the first ATP Challenger 125 tournament ever staged in Brazil.

“I know Sauípe hosted an ATP 250 for many years, but at that time I was still very young and didn’t get the chance to watch it up close. The Brasil Open was a great tournament and is historically important for Brazilian tennis,” Guto Miguel said.

The young player couldn’t hide his excitement about the opportunity.

“I’m very happy to play a Challenger 125 at Sauípe," he added. "It’s going to be an amazing experience. I hope to play good matches, give my best, stick to my routine and put into practice everything I’ve been training. I’m in a good moment right now, so I want to enjoy it and keep working to reach 100%.”

The unique setting of the event is also a special attraction for him.

“I think it’s going to be different to play at a resort, especially with the beach nearby. It should be a special atmosphere, and I want to enjoy this experience as much as possible,” he added.
