COVID-19 spares no one, not even those who have used their platforms to help combat the life-altering virus.

On Thursday, Madison Keys, who last year helped launch a COVID-19 relief initiative through her nonprofit organization, Kindness Wins, announced that she has tested positive for the coronavirus.

Later that same day, Andy Murray was revealed to have also tested positive. The upcoming Australian Open confirmed earlier reports, saying Murray "will be unable to join the official AO charter flights arriving in Australia in the coming days to go through the quarantine period with the other players."

While it was not explicitly stated that either Keys or Murray is out of the Australian Open, the clear implication is that neither player can compete in the season's first Grand Slam tournament.

In worse but related news, Sloane Stephens revealed that both her grandmother and aunt had died from COVID-19.
