DELRAY BEACH, Fla. -- Two-time winner Xavier Malisse beat Alejandro Falla 6-3, 6-3 Monday at the at the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships.

The 50th-ranked Malisse, who has reached the quarterfinals at the Auckland and San Jose tournaments this year, has beaten the 59th-ranked Falla all four times they've played.

Malisse, who won in 2005 and 2007, now has a 26-10 winning record at the tournament.

2010 winner Ernests Gulbis had to come through qualifying to reach the main draw, beating 6-7 (4), 7-5, 6-4 Denys Molchanov. Third seed Sam Querrey faced fellow American Michael Russell in the featured match on Monday night.
